On Thursday, U.S. grain prices continued to decline. The December SRW wheat contract closed at $5.30/bu ($195/mt), down 2.0% from Wednesday. The December HRW wheat contract in Kansas fell to $5.33/bu ($196/mt), down 1.4%. The December U.S. corn contract decreased to $4.19/bu ($165/mt), down 1.7%. The December Euronext wheat contract closed at €210.75/mt ($222/mt), up 0.6%.
As of November 11, soft wheat planting in France was completed on 78% of the planned area, compared to 70% last year and 83% on average. Last year, wheat planting was delayed due to rainy weather.
As of November 14, Ukrainian farmers harvested 52.1 million mt of grain, or 96% of the total area, including 22.4 million mt of wheat and 22.3 million mt of corn.
Brazil’s corn production forecast for 2024/25 was raised by 0.1 million mt to 119.8 million mt, according to a report from Conab. Last year, Brazil harvested 115.7 million mt of corn.
