On Friday, wheat prices were stable. March SRW wheat closed at $5.57/bu ($205/mt), down 0.1% from Thursday. March HRW wheat in Kansas settled at $5.54/bu ($203/mt), up 0.2%. March Euronext wheat closed at €227.50/mt ($240/mt), up 0.1%. March U.S. corn rose to $4.40/bu ($173/mt), up 1.1%.

Egypt’s military agency Mostakbal Misr will handle food imports instead of the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC). In a letter from Egypt’s Ministry of Supply to Russia’s Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Mostakbal Misr was identified as the sole entity responsible for food imports.

Analytical firm Argus Media forecasts Russian wheat production in 2025 at 81.5 million mt, compared to 81.3 million mt the previous year. Ukrainian wheat production is projected at 23.7 million mt, up from 22.4 million mt a year earlier, due to an expansion in planted areas.

The share of French soft wheat crops rated in good or excellent condition was 86% last week, slightly down from 87% the previous week but higher than the 77% recorded a year ago, according to FranceAgriMer data.
