On Wednesday, trading on European and U.S. exchanges was closed due to Christmas holidays.

Rosstat released preliminary results for Russia’s 2024 harvest. According to the agency, 124.96 million mt of grain were harvested this year, compared to 144.96 million mt last year. Wheat production totaled 82.4 million mt, down from 92.9 million mt; barley production was 16.7 million mt, down from 21.1 million mt; and corn production reached 13.2 million mt, compared to 16.6 million mt last year. Preliminary data shows sunflower seed output at 16.6 million mt, down from 17.3 million mt a year earlier.

Approximately 22.8% of crops in Russia’s Rostov region have not germinated or are thinning, according to the Rosselkhozcenter in Rostov.
