On Friday, U.S. grain prices declined. March SRW wheat closed at $5.52/bu ($203/mt), down 1.1% from Thursday. March HRW wheat in Kansas fell to $5.57/bu ($205/mt), down 1.0%. March Euronext wheat edged up to €229.50/mt ($241/mt), gaining 0.2%. March U.S. corn dropped to $4.42/bu ($174/mt), down 0.5%.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Agriculture raised its 2024 grain production forecast by 1 million mt to 55 million mt, Minister Yuriy Koval announced.
Russian grain exports to Syria have been suspended amid uncertainty over the new government and payment delays, Reuters reported, citing sources. Around 0.5 million mt of wheat was shipped to Syria in the 2023/24 season. Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Vitaliy Koval stated that Ukraine is ready to supply grain to Syria if necessary.
On Dec. 13, drones and missiles attacked Ukraine’s Odesa region. Local authorities reported damage to civilian infrastructure, including a transport company office and eight freight trucks.
