On Friday, grain prices fell. December SRW wheat futures closed at $5.48/bushel ($201/mt; -2.5% compared to Thursday). HRW wheat in Kansas City fell to $5.62/bushel ($206/mt; -2.8%). September Euronext wheat futures closed at €225.25/mt ($245/mt; -0.9%). September U.S. corn futures fell to $4.10/bushel ($161/mt; -2.6%).

Ukrainian grain exports as of July 26 totalled 3.0 mmt compared to 1.9 mmt a year earlier and 3.4 mmt last month, according to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Wheat exports totalled 1.2 mmt (compared to 0.6 mmt last year and 0.8 mmt last month), and corn exports totalled 1.4 mmt (compared to 1.0 mmt and 2.4 mmt, respectively).

As of July 25, Ukrainian farmers harvested 20 mmt of grain, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. Wheat harvests totalled 14.7 mmt from 3.5 million hectares with an average yield of 4.2 mt/ha.

The $34 billion merger deal between Bunge and Viterra could soon receive approval from EU antitrust regulators, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the situation.
