On Thursday, grain prices rose. March SRW wheat futures closed at $5.41 per bushel ($199/mt), up 1.2% from Tuesday. March HRW wheat futures in Kansas City rose to $5.51 per bushel ($203/mt), up 1.4%. March corn futures closed at $4.54 per bushel ($179/mt), up 1.2%. Trading on the French exchange was closed due to the Christmas holidays.

From January 1 to April 30 2025, Morocco will implement a financial support system for soft wheat importers. Importers will be reimbursed for the difference between the average port price and 270 dirhams per quintal ($269/mt).

Chinese state-owned companies may purchase up to 420 million mt of grain from the domestic market in 2024, according to the government information portal. China is actively buying grain following a record harvest, which for the first time in history exceeded 700 million mt, reaching 706.5 million mt in 2024.
