On Wednesday, wheat prices continued to rise. The December SRW wheat contract closed at $5.41/bush ($199/mt; +1.1% compared to Tuesday). The December HRW wheat contract in Kansas City increased to $5.56/bush ($204/mt; +1.6%). The December Euronext wheat contract closed at €212.25/mt ($237/mt; +2.2%). The December corn contract closed at $3.91/bush ($154/mt; -0.5%).

According to FranceAgriMer, only 26% of the new French wheat crop exceeded the common standard weight of 76 kg per hectoliter, based on test results. The five-year average for this metric was 76%. The agency also reported that 74% of the crop had a protein content above 11%, compared to an average of 85% over the past five years.

Ukrainian farmers have planted the first 2,000 hectares of winter wheat and 600 hectares of winter barley, according to APK-Inform.

Romania plans to purchase the Danube port of Giurgiulesti in neighboring Moldova from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The country aims to strengthen its logistical role in Central and Southeastern Europe through this acquisition.
