Wheat futures declined on Thursday. The December SRW wheat contract closed at $5.19/bu ($191/mt; -0.5% from Wednesday). The December HRW wheat contract fell to $5.06/bu ($186/mt; -0.8%). The December Euronext wheat contract settled at €189.75/mt ($221/mt; -0.3%). The December U.S. corn contract rose to $4.20/bu ($165/mt; +0.4%).

The share of Argentine wheat rated in good or excellent condition fell to 98% from 99% a week earlier, according to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. A year ago, 83% of the crop was rated good or excellent.

Brazilian farmers had planted 6.7% of their first corn crop for the 2025/26 season, down from 7.7% a year earlier, AgRural reported.

SovEcon raised its forecast for Russian wheat exports in the 2025/26 season by 0.4 mmt to 43.7 mmt. A year earlier, Russia shipped 40.8 mmt of wheat. The forecast was revised upward amid favorable crop prospects, though shipments in the first months of the season remain historically low.
