U.S. wheat futures continued to decline on Wednesday. The December SRW wheat contract closed at $5.22/bu ($192/mt; -1.2% from Tuesday). The December HRW wheat contract fell to $5.10/bu ($187/mt; -0.2%). The December Euronext wheat contract settled at €190.25/mt ($222/mt; +0.1%). The December U.S. corn contract dropped to $4.18/bu ($165/mt; -1.2%).
Germany’s Agriculture Ministry estimated the country’s winter wheat production at 22.45 mmt, up 26% from last year. Total grain output was estimated at 44.73 mmt, 15% higher than a year ago.
Tunisia purchased 125 tmt of wheat at $256/mt for October–November delivery in an international tender, European traders said.
SovEcon raised its forecast for Russian wheat exports in the 2025/26 season by 0.4 mmt to 43.7 mmt. A year earlier, Russia shipped 40.8 mmt of wheat. The forecast was revised upward amid favorable crop prospects, though shipments in the first months of the season remain historically low.
