On Monday, U.S. wheat futures edged lower. December SRW wheat closed at $5.13/bu ($188/mt; -0.5% from Friday). December HRW wheat fell to $4.95/bu ($182/mt; -0.3%). December Euronext wheat settled at €187.75/mt ($220/mt; unchanged). December U.S. corn rose to $4.22/bu ($166/mt; +0.6%).
Winter grains planting in Russia is delayed due to dry weather, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said. Still, many farmers are proceeding with planting in hopes of imminent rainfall.
Snowfall in the Novosibirsk region has disrupted the harvest, regional Agriculture Minister Andrey Shindelov said. Grains have been harvested from 77% of the area, with total production estimated at 2.6 mmt. Novosibirsk is the third-largest wheat producer in the Siberian Federal District.
Saudi Arabia’s GFSA purchased 455 tmt of wheat in an international tender at $263–265/mt (C&F).
