On Wednesday, grain futures rose. The March SRW wheat contract closed at $5.72/bu ($210/mt), up 0.8% from Tuesday. The March HRW wheat contract in Kansas increased to $5.73/bu ($210/mt), up 0.6%. The March Euronext wheat contract closed at €230.25/mt ($243/mt), up 1.3%. The March U.S. corn contract rose to $4.40/bu ($173/mt), up 0.5%.

Between November 1 and November 20, Ukraine shipped 2.4 mt of grain, down from 2.8 mt a year earlier, according to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. Since the beginning of the season, total grain exports have reached 16.8 mt, up from 12.0 mt last year.

Winter crops in the Rostov region are not developing in line with seasonal expectations due to prolonged drought, the regional office of the Russian Agricultural Center reported. Rostov is the largest wheat producing region in Russia.

Jordan’s state grain buyer did not contract any wheat during its November 19 international tender to purchase 120,000 mt, market participants said. Another tender for the same volume of wheat will be held on November 26.
