Grain futures rose on Friday. The July SRW wheat contract closed at $5.44/bu ($200/mt; +3.3% from Thursday). The July Kansas HRW contract climbed to $5.41/bu ($199/mt; +3.4%). September Euronext wheat closed at €202.75/mt ($234/mt; +2.0%). July U.S. corn futures rose to $4.44/bu ($175/mt; +1.4%).

European agency Strategie Grains raised its EU soft wheat production estimate to 130.7 mmt from 129.8 mmt a month earlier, citing strong crop prospects in Romania, Bulgaria, and Spain.

Algeria’s OAIC will hold a tender on June 17 to purchase a nominal 50,000 mt of soft wheat, according to European traders.

Starting July 1, the transit fee for ships passing through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits will increase by 15% year-on-year to $5.83/mt as part of the annual revision.
