US grain futures rose on Wednesday. The December SRW wheat contract closed at $5.28/bu ($194/mt; +1.3% from Tuesday). The December HRW wheat contract in Kansas increased to $5.23/bu ($192/mt; +0.3%). The December Euronext wheat contract settled at €193.25/mt ($225/mt; -0.3%). The December US corn contract rose to $4.04/bu ($159/mt; +0.2%).
Syria’s state grain buyer issued an international tender to purchase 200 tmt of wheat, European traders said. The submission deadline is September 15.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange forecasts Argentina’s 2025/26 corn area at 7.8 mln ha, up 9.6% from the current season. That would be the second-largest corn area on record, behind the 8.4 mln ha planted in 2023/24.
