U.S. wheat futures declined on Thursday. The September SRW wheat contract closed at $5.03/bu ($185/mt; -0.7% from Wednesday). The September HRW wheat contract fell to $5.04/bu ($186/mt; -0.8%). The September Euronext wheat contract settled at €197.00/mt ($229/mt; +1.3%). The September U.S. corn contract rose to $3.75/bu ($148/mt; +0.3%).
Brazil’s Conab raised its corn production estimate to 137.0 mmt from 132.0 mmt. Last year’s crop totaled 115.5 mmt. The agency also raised its corn export forecast to 40.0 mmt from 36.0 mmt a month earlier and 38.5 mmt last year.
France’s soft wheat harvest was 99% complete, compared with a five-year average of 93%.
Argentina harvested 6.5 mln ha of corn out of the planned 7.1 mln ha, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported. A year ago, 7.0 mln ha were harvested out of 7.2 mln ha. Yield was estimated at 7.21 mt/ha.
The share of Argentine wheat rated good or excellent stood at 96%, down from 98% a week earlier but up from 85% a year ago.
SovEcon has raised its forecast for Russia’s 2025 wheat crop by 1.9 million tonnes to 85.2 million tonnes, following the release of updated planted area data from Rosstat.
