Russia’s wheat export duty will decrease to 1,832.0 rubles per metric ton from 2,210.1 rubles per metric ton a week earlier, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

As of April 17, Ukraine had planted 1.2 million hectares of spring grains and legumes out of a projected 5.7 million hectares. A year ago, 2.1 million hectares had been planted out of 5.6 million hectares.

The first wheat shipment has arrived in Syria following the change in government, Reuters reported, citing traders. According to one trader, the supplier was Russia.

SovEcon has raised its forecast for Russian wheat production, to 79.7 million metric tons (MMT), up by 1.1 MMT. This revision reflects better-than-expected winter survival of the crop.
